This one bothers me. Memphis and Ark St. were willing to assist Miami in any way possible, playing Friday night instead of Saturday, housing them extra days, etc. Instead they bail on this game and stay in Miami for the hurricane? That's garbage and I feel bad for Arkansas State. Player safety is not their top priority if they passed up a chance to get everyone several states away.
Very nice gesture by Wisconsin, they are hosting FAU and if FAU can't safely return home, Wisconsin is covering all cost for meals and lodging until they can leave.

It really was a no-win for Miami. The storm will be coming ashore around sat-sun. Teams fly back on Sat. They would be unable to return plus the unknown if the airport is damaged

I was in school in Mobile in '79 when Fredrick blew in. I left Mobile on Wednesday morningcoming to Dithan, ?Freddie came up Mobile Bay around 10:00 PM Wednesday night. It was either 3 or 4 weeks (I'm old, I forget stuff) before anyone other than emergency/utility personnel were allowed into Mobile and Baldwin counties. It really threw a wrench into the class schedule. We compensated by adding ten minutes to each class. Classes began at 7:00 AM, not 8:00 for the remainder of that semester. I say this to say, the important thing is to ensure the safety of the students and staff. If they travel to Jonesboro and can't get back because the roads and airports are nonfunctional, they aren't going to be holding classes in Coral Gables anyway. Get everyone possible out of South Florida, including the students at UM. Cancel the game if you must, but don't do that without a plan to get those people out of there. A trip to Jonesboro is a built in evacuated plan.
