Finally get a busted coverage and we overthrow him Why are our running plays sideline to sideline. Gee whiz go north and south! They seem confused just waiting for the play to come in! I hope we aren't back to the death by bubble screen crap again flamingmad

Bottom line is we lost a game that we could have won because we were unprepared on Offense and Special Teams. I think we went easy on the veterans this fall camp and we shouldn't have. I think the Defense is going to be really good. Offense and Special teams will turn it around. Day late and a dollar short.

Thank God for the Defense or it would have been worse. That was the worst offensive game since Neal took over, it looked like the old days when Fleetwood was the OC, our defense would hold them to 9 points but we would score three. Ugghhh, line looked awful, Silvers looked rushed and very inconsistent, play calling was flat. Really only had two solid drives the entire game. Special Teams.....other than Underwood, did they practice special teams play??? Our defensive line looks very, very good. We should have won that game and could not capitalize on the opportunities that were given too us by the defense. Thankfully we play Ala State next weekend, because right now we look like a mid level Sun Belt team.

Not seeing 12 on the sidelines and putting in speed like BSU did was disappointing and makes DT question the staff. They did right and adjusted and won due to it.
Adjustments were made but they were few.

Things I learned in Boise:
1)Boise is a cool town. The people in Boise are even cooler. Boise is not a bad team.
2)Three years ago most Troy fans would be happy to play tough at Boise St. The fact that we are disappointed and upset means expectations are up for Troy football and it's fans. That's a good sign.
3)I could not be prouder of the performance of our defense. They kept us in the game all day.
4) Our offense underperformed all day long. The glaring thing it me was on the offensive line and the lack of leadership and confidence from the group. They have big shoes to fill and I'm certain Matt Moore will get it corrected.
5) The special teams will have to be fixed and I'm pretty sure it will be a focal point this week.
6) Those calling for starters to be benched and coaches to be replaced, in the first half of the first game, no one takes you seriously.
7) As bad as everything was today we were two great defensive plays by Boise St from winning the game.

Very disappointed and you guys pretty much have hit the nail on the head with the problems we've got to fix. We can still have a good season with some major improvements.
I will say I was impressed with the D overall. They played well enough to keep us in the game. Offense and special teams are lacking right now. Hopefully this was a wake up call.
I will echo what Hemi said about our fans being disappointed with this close loss. No more aww shucks moral victories. I told my cousin this very thing TROY is done with that mindset. We expect to win every game and that's that.
Next game up...
Go TROJANS!!!

I miss our O-Line from last year... I was afraid that would be our weakness this year. Left tackle was a huge void. I don't think Rowzee is athletic enough to play left tackle. I think we need to switch him back to guard and move Kelly or Gaston over Whole offense looked very unsure of themselves. Between terrible blocking, penalties and over thrown balls, Troy never good get in sync.

Offensive line was a concern, especially both tackles but they aren't to blame for the qb making horrible throws. A lot of things to get corrected and one game does not make a season. Hopefully next week builds some confidence because we are a better team than this.

No on is going to take my side on this one, but.... Troy played well enough to win, just barely, imho. Two catastrophically bad calls turned the game.
I know, I know, poor sport, blah blah blah. I'm not saying Troy doesn't have problems to fix, but Boise has just as many. Like I said, just barely. I'm tired of pretending bad calls didn't happen. And today was among the worst, if not the worst I've ever seen.

Bad calls on both sides. Game was over when the Bronco's scored their first TD though. Our offense played better in the second half but overall very disappointing performance, incl playcalling. Somehow those Ark St coaches have got us figured out and I am worried about this.
I am starting to think our offense is not as good as we might think. Defense showed up as usual, esp the D-line - good job, very impressive. Coach Koenning did his homework, he is one of the best DCs in the country. period. I still think this team will win many FB games this season, but I am sick and tired of not winning the big games...

A spread offense that scores zero points is not good. Got to get this corrected. Defense looked good which is encouraging. Special teams looked horrible and that has to get corrected.

The teams that have shut us down play tight coverage forcing our qb's to make touch throws which we have struggled with since Levi. We then resort to bubble screens. Hopefully we find the remedy for this. And I totally agree with your comments about VK. Outstanding DC

I know what you mean. It's hard for me to express how I feel after today. I feel like we are good enough to have played terrible and still been in the game against a pretty good team. It's not like we played our best and just got beat by a better team. We sucked in more ways than one. But we sucked at correctable things. We didn't get beat because Boise was bigger, stronger and faster. We were a couple of plays and one bad call from sucking and still winning.

We have no uptempo anymore.....the NASCAR Days are long gone, we haven't run it really in several years. That used to be our signature but the tempo and play calling is stale. We will win a lot of Sunbelt games this year and should beat Akron, Penn State throttled them today, but dang......I want more. I dont know why I do it to myself but I always think this is the year we win those out of conference games and then we fail to show up and play. So disappointed.

I don't understand it with a fourth year starter at qb and basically all our skill players back from last season.

I believe the majority of what we saw today IS FIXABLE! Pre-season hype can really influence 17 - 23 year olds. I think they experienced today how that can be a bad thing!
Why don't we all agree to meet at The Vet next Saturday and see what improvements have been made during the week? Still believing in one play at a time and one game at a time.

What was said in the post-game interview from CNB? Any links to it?
My observations: we just aren't there yet. Can't handle expectations/hype. OL needs to get it together quickly. Play calling and execution on O was lackluster and out of sync. Never got anything going on 1st down and put us in 3rd and long and couldn't convert. way too many penalties too!
Horrible call on the touchback play - no way there was indisputable evidence to say touchback...should have been our ball on the 2 yard line. Special teams coverage needs lots of work. Defense was horrible on 3rd down, but other than that the D kept us in the game and played great!
Crazy thing is we still could have won that game!
Lots of work to do...but hopeful we can get it going.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! NO it"s not guys just kind of cloudy today. I trust the coaches will work on what needs to be and the D should just keep trucking along

Very disappointed in the start after all the build up of this being "the year". I know it's only one game, but it's like "here we go again"...another year and another also-ran season. Every year, it seems either the defense or the offense or the special teams are down. Oh well...I'll still be at every home game!

One thing that hasnt been mentioned is that beautiful pick 6 by Brown, awesome play. Once again he leads the team in interceptions.
