I teach at a high school in Florida and we have a great football program, but since it's a small school, we don't get looked at.
I have a couple of players who could do great things at Troy, especially with some guidance. Does anybody know who I might need to call/email so I can shine a light on some of these kids? One of them already has an offer from Eastern and Western Michigan.

Make sure you get some film and email it to them too. Stats would be helpful too.

Coach Hardmon and Coach Williams recruit Florida. I believe coach Hardmon to about Ocala and Coach Williams south to Orlando-Tampa area. They might have Coach Hardmon doing all of Florida now but you can check

Question: Does it violate some sort of NCAA rules if a regular fan/alumni recommends an athlete to the university?

Question: Does it violate some sort of NCAA rules if a regular fan/alumni recommends an athlete to the university? No. Boosters can recommend athletes to coaches, but CAN NOT talk directly to the prospective student athlete.

No. Boosters can recommend athletes to coaches, but CAN NOT talk directly to the prospective student athlete. Had to ask a coach on this because Troy had offerered a high school teamate of mines son. I have known the family for 20 plus years and his mom actually handles my insurance. What I was told was if you know the player or it's a family friend it's not a violation to talk to him but you have to be careful with it.

Basically you need to be able to provide real life information you was speaking to player before he became a prospective athlete.

I don't think answering questions from a parent or athlete about one's school is a violation. Its the unsolicited info /contact/ benefit that is. Prior relationship with a prospect ( family friend) are still ok to maintain just no benefit or escalation of that friendship by a the booster......always check beforehand best bet is to leave the recruiting to the coaches.
Any prospect you deem a possibility can be seen on Hudl in most cases

Talked mainly to his parents but he signed with Akron If he signed with another team you can talk about whatever! During last season. Both parents called me and we talked about Troy and I answered questions. I checked before talking though, I didn't want to be responsible for a violation knowing how anal the NCAA is.

Congrats to them...but 9/23 won't be a good day for the zaps...( I Know...) I got money on this game. I was born in Akron, my dad was born and raised there, met my mom there and I have a lot of cousins, aunt, and family friends there. They are a good program but Troy is going to lay the smack down on the Zippers. Was going to the game but changed the game I could attend to the AL State game because of the 1987 Team reunion.
