Could you please tell me about your team?

Short version -
We won 10 games last year, taking Clemson to the wire (we feel we got hosed on a call that resulted in a 14 pt swing) We were ranked #25 before losing a game we shouldn't have Our QB is a senior and will be a 4 year starter We return 100% of our rushing and receiving offense (you read that right, 100%) Our secondary led the nation in interceptions for a good part of the season, finishing in the top 10 We lost several starters on our offensive line, but we are not inexperienced or young there. Backups got a lot of playing time last year Defensive line is a question, as is our linebacking corp, but we should be ok.
Summary, we were pretty good last season and shouldn't see any falloff. We should play you guys straight up and the game should be very entertaining. Don't overlook us.

We are terrible have no chance of beating you so you may as well look ahead to your next opponent.

A longer version would be the school has fielded a football team since 1909, with interruptions here and there due to events such as the Stock Market Crash and two World Wars. My Great, great grandfather played on one the first teams and set some sort of record (or so my family says). We've competed under Troy Normal School, Troy State Teachers College, Troy State College, Troy State University and now Troy University names. We won a national Championship at the NAIA Level (now Division III) back in in 1968, a pair of Division II National Championships in 1986 and 1987. We moved to I-AA (now FCS) around 1991. We became A FBS school officially in 2001. Since then our notable wins include: Mississippi State in 2001, Marshal in 2003, Missouri in 2004 and Oklahoma State in 2007. Since joining the Sun Belt in 2004 Troy either won or shared a piece of the conference championship from 2006-2010. We recently went into a slump starting in 2011 which led to our long-time, a most winning coach to retire in 2014. We're now under the helm of Coach Neal Brown who once served as our offensive coordinator.

Not sure if what we were then is D3 today (no athletic scholarships). Maybe Redwaver can shed light on that. Curious to know.

And because I am old and I was in school at the time, we won our first D-II title in 84. Not 86.

Hello people of Troy, My projection is that the Boise offense will be better than the defense. We should have a good line, experienced QB, new RB that we're comfortable with and one proven WR who is really good. Defense has new line and no depth at LB, DBs should be good. We lost the turnover battle badly last year so that bodes well for you. Our special teams were also pretty lackluster. The danger for Troy is letting the blue turf and crowd get in their heads. Things can avalanche and Boise can put up points in a hurry sometimes. If Troy can stay focused for 4 qtrs then I think we've got a ballgame.

Always admired you guys. This game and next years game back in Troy have been circled on my calendar for some time now. I think it's programs like ours and yours that brings excitement to college football. The rise of the little guy, the Davids, in a world of Goliath's! It's fun to watch the guys "that don't play real football" teach the "big boys" a lesson now and again. We look forward to our contest. Praying for safety for all!

I honestly didn't think Troy had much a chance, other than keeping it close, coming in but after seeing them up close and personal multiple times at this point... and with Boise having a weak secondary, I think Troy def. can match them.
