Serious question - How important is the Sound of the South on gameday on a scale of 1 -10?
I go with 10 - can't imagine them 1/2 the size
two request for the band
1. Learn Guns n' Roses = Sweet Child O Mine - play end of third quarter 2. Get with the PA guy and tell him to quit playing over band and band over PA
Best band in the land - THE SOUND OF THE SOUTH -

Travel schedule for the band is light this year due to budgets - it is my understanding that a pep band only is going to A State and Georgia State.

Game day experience would not be the same without the Sound of the South in the stands. We are extremely blessed to have such a dedicated and talented group of young people that work as hard as they do to provide a great atmosphere in the Vet (as well as at away games). Even our Pep Band rivals most other school's full band.
Go TROY!

Anyone know what the halftime theme will be this year? I know band camp is just around the corner.

So, take that out of the $1 million we're getting for the game. A drop in the bucket.

So, take that out of the $1 million we're getting for the game. A drop in the bucket. SOTS is uncommon - and fortunate - that they *don't* get their budget from the athletic department. They get it from the same source that athletics gets theirs. Therefore, the deal you're suggesting can't be done. Besides, it wouldn't be "A drop in the bucket." Do you have any idea how much it would cost to move so many people and the gear even to Baton Rouge?

It doesn't ensure that he stays but when he moves on we get something for him.

He did. but that doesn't mean we just stop trying to woo him to stay.

He did. but that doesn't mean we just stop trying to woo him to stay. If we have a even better season next year thought has to be given to that. However there is a limit to what Troy can pay him and his staff. I think if we have a stellar year NB is possibly gone and VK is definetely gone. Neal will command $1,000,000 plus by another school which we can't pay. VK could be a bigger blow than losing Neal. What Vic has done is nothing short of amazing. After 2009-14 I never thought we would be a top 25 defense. Outstanding job by all the coaches but VK has done above any of our expectations

If Stoops doesn't move forward at Kentucky and CNB and this team achieve same results or better, CNB will be wearing Kentucky blue in 2018. Just my opinion though.

I think CNB knows that UK is a career ender not a career builder. So, I don't think he makes that move. Could be wrong, but I just don't see THAT move as his next, IF he ever moves.

He turned around one of the worst defenses in FBS in two seasons and they are expecting even better performance this season. That has to get noticed by a bigger school looking to improve its defense. Hope I'm wrong. What he has done is nothing short of a miracle and he has been a blessing to this program

We weren't in the greatest shape either. Looks what he's done. Imagine what he can do with a bigger budget, better recruiting and brand new facilities.
