Pensacola will be lunch on June 15th. Followed by a golf tournament. All are welcome to attend and play. The balance of the tour schedule should be released by the end of this week.

They won't come to Huntsville. So road trip I'm guessing? Troy's popularity in the Tennessee Valley is increasing. They didn't go to Columbus/ Phenix City last year.

In a perfect world, I would be in Montgomery AND G'ville! I'll be in attendance, at least, at one.

NOT surprised that Birmingham was taken off the list! YES, the reason was poor attendance in multiple years despite what I personally see as an increased presence in the Metro Area. Guess we will see some of y'all in Montgomery for the third time!

I would suggest you contact Steve Stroud in Athletics and voice your ideas. While this year is out of the question, organising an event (alumni meeting or something) and work it around Coach Browns schedule could be worked out. This tour has limited time, due to camps, visits, and summer team workouts beginning in August, there is only a small opening, but I think it could be worked out.
It is true, these tour stops are based on previous attendance and if an area shows poor attendance, athletics has no choice but to try and find a larger participant fan base. So, to counter this, organize the base and bring in the coach. If it is well attended you would then have a case. The BIGGEST challenge to the Trojan Tour is that local fans/alumni MUST do the lion share of the work, athletics won't and can't, they dont have their thumb on your world, you do.
Basically, if you want the tour to come and keep coming back, get out there and organize the meeting. Always remember that it will be 4 or 5 folks doing all the work so the 60-100 folks can enjoy it.
If you are not willing to put forth an effort, well, then come see us at the FWB YACHT Club on June 15, 6:00. We would love to have you! You could even come to Pensacola the night before, have brunch with coaches, play in the P'cola chapter golf tournament, and then rush to FWB and have dinner with the tour and Emerald Coast Alumni and Fans.
Invite is there, however you want to play it, I've provided all with some options.

Ah yes, the mentality that is a deadly poison to parts of the Troy fanbase. The mindset that Troy university should run to you with open arms, roll out the red carpet, and wash your feet, with hopes that you would grace the university your presence. Luckily there are many, behind the scenes that donate their time, money (other than the TWF), and resources to grow the brand that is Troy athletics. In hopes that Troy will grow, succeed, and reach its full potential, without concern for a pat on the back or name recognition.

Finally ! If Troy is to grow, this exactly what the university needs to do. It's Marketing 101. Take a business class. It's customer service. If the mentality and mindset and operation/message of a university is to say to its alumni/fans: do all the work and I will take all the credit is just Wow ! The fact that they are going to Greenville and not Huntsville, Mobile or Birmingham speaks volume.

I am wondering if NB does any on his own? Ocala city limits is about the population of Dothan but we have about 320,000 in the county and FSU and UF head football coach does a gathering every year with golf. I think it would be a great idea if NB could do something on his own because football is king and that's the fact.

IF it is that Troy Athletics decides to "tour" events where the crowd shows up and appreciates the effort it takes to put on a tour stop event, then I am hearing it right. IF it (volume) is some sort of sarcastic remark that Troy Athletics doesn't feel these towns "deserve" a stop, then that message is WRONG! Those of us that actually work our asses off to make sure OUR Universities Brand is promoted ALL OVER OUR local area and work WITH Athletics to MAKE SURE the folks come out don't appreciate attitudes of, "...run to you with open arms...blah, blah, blah..."! I actually thought MOST of the people on this forum actually WANTED the University to grow. For "US" to be a part of helping that growth. To work WITH our MASSIVE Athletic Department staff of what 4 or 5 folks, including ticket office staff, admin staff, Etc, to get OUR University to the next level. Guess not, seems some on here just want to constantly complain about everything our "massive" staff doesn't do! Its really a choice, be a part of the solution or continue to be part of the problem. That's what is GREAT about this, YOU get to choose. Guess the future will tell us all, what the answer is SMDH!
