Had we been hot all year that arena would have been filled much more... hoping we start hot next year so we can fill it. Mr. atl is correct in the above assessment.

A lot of Troy "fans" on this board are so disappointed by the win today. Doesn't fit their narrative. Point of order. Mr. Ho's narrative is TMTDM dominating, not wallering around in mediocrity. The thought of Mr. Ho wanting TMTDM losing is almost unimaginable. One month ago, this team was dead in the water during the final season of PC's contract. He has them hitting on all cylinders at the right time, but it's taken just a tad while to do it. He's recruited two great players and should be given deserved credit, but if you thought in February this program was in a good place, take off your rose colored glasses. The Arena is so empty during TMTDM games it resembles a practice. With that said, PC has won a conference tournament and should be rewarded with a modest extension. His two biggest players are returning. But something needs to be done about filling that Arena. Mr. Ho is as spot on as drinking a cool whiskey drink while watching the Trojans play and win.

The crowd that wants Cunningham gone... they are disappointed. I was one who wanted Cunningham gone... if this turned out to be another losing season. But he turned it around during the last 8 games of the regular season. The February 11 game against ULL and everything after that looked like a completely different Troy team. I'm proud of Cunningham, the staff, and the players. Can't wait to see what he can do with the team next season considering the amount of players coming back. And like I said many threads ago, I will gladly eat crow since Cunningham turned the corner with this team. I was one of those people too. I would argue that with the talent we had, we should have had a better in-season conference record but, in hindsight, that is just a minor nit-pick.The real test will be next year, with the core of the team coming back, can the momentum be maintained? The bar has now been raised. I sincerely hope the coaching staff and the team are up to the raised expectations. It is truly an exciting time for Trojan basketball as we are the only D-1 school in Alabama to qualify for both the men's and women's tournament. My only concern this season is will we be able to hold onto Coach Rigby.

I don't know who could be disappointed! Awesome to be in the conversation, even if only for a brief while. Great for the program and our university. I'm not a huge basketball fan but you know I'll be watching Friday night! Go Trojans! The crowd that wants Cunningham gone... they are disappointed. I am never disappointed when Troy succeeds. At the beginning of the year it was simply my, and many other as well. belief that if we didn't win and compete for an SBC championship with the talent we have then a change was needed. The team gelled at the right time and has rendered that point moot. The challenge now is to keep that momentum going and make competing for the SBC an every year thing (i.e. Ga. State). I am not saying we need to win it every year but being in the hunt is a minimum.

The athletic department has made two new hires with one of those having a major role in filling the arena and stadiums. This is a position we have needed for years but have never had. Let's hope he can get frat boy and local guy to show up.

Mr. atl is correct in the above assessment. I actually think making it to the dance will do wonders for next seasons attendance. Along with increased pre-season hype, including pre-season rankings that include Troy winning the Sunbelt with return to the Big Dance. If that doesn't get the locals and students flooding in, nothing will.

I have not been to many Troy basketball games the last few years, but this years success definitely motivates me to want to be at as many games as possible next season.

We don't care if it's the dookie holes or anyone else...saw the Hoosiers thing And remembered great other speeches like John Bulishi in Animal House " Did we give up after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" Or another great speech by Baghdad Bob- "we got em where we want em".....the point is inspirational motivational speeches are great and make for great theater but performance and heart can turn some of the bleakest situations around...in Baghdad Bobs didn't turn out to well but hey great things happen because it's TRIED no matter the odds....Good luck Trojans let's be Joe's Gym from Dodgeball and be a great American underdog story...for just as the Al.com said America will be pulling for Troy over the dookie holes

Explain to me how betting works. I saw that Duke is -3600. Does this mean that if I bet $1 on Troy and they win, I would win $3600? So if I bet $100, and Troy won, I would win $360,000? Also, other than flying to vegas, where could I place such a bet?

That indicates that you would do much better investing in a $1.00 package of Kool-Ade and serving your friends and family at game time. You are guaranteed a return on your $1.00!

Yeah but its not about guarantee. It's about that 1 in 3600 chance of Troy shocking the world. I'm not a rich guy, but I could probably afford to lose 100 bucks. I could stand to skip a few meals if you know what I mean.

1 Samuel 17:48 "As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell face down on the ground.
:50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him."
All kidding aside, no matter what happens tonight against Duke I'm proud of the team. It's amazing we're even there. Our Trojans did what no one (including people like me, I'll admit it) thought they could do. Lets represent our school with pride. It seems Troy athletics may have turned the corner.
