It's funny ... I think it's required to post all jobs in this way. If I recall ... I think the Head FB coach job was posted like this as well? Hope we get a good Soccer coach ... we've been strong last few years, and I hope we can continue! I love the game!

Didn't Hamilton resign over a month ago? Seems like they delayed posting

Hope they find a quality replacement. Hamilton had a pipeline to FL which is a soccer hotbed, Esoecially South FL. The travel circuit is intense here. He turned us around in one season, hated to see him leave. Maybe a top notch d2 coach from a program like Rollins or Flagler here would stay for a bit, just a thought

I think it's understood that all coaching hires and recruits from all sports should come from Central Florida, otherwise they are no good.

Hamilton wasn't from Florida, he coached there and he brought in some great talent we weren't recruiting before. I never said a coach wasn't good if they didn't come from Florida. Typical smart a$$ remark from a local.

But I will give him this one concerning soccer talent, it is dripping off the palm trees down there. You will not field a championship team with locals from the Wiregrass. (Yes, I know that is hard to take for the Pike Co folks as y'all believe it is Valhalla)

Troy hired a soccer coach from central Florida.
I guess this means TroyStet will defend him vehemently if he under performs.

Sounds like a good hire. Had success at DII. USA went that route a few years ago hiring the guy that had success at UNA ... he's done great at USA. We're in good position to recruit FL and GA which are both soccer hotbeds. Talent pool is growing in AL ... Montgomery, Auburn, Dothan all have strong clubs.

But if this coach won at St.Leo he should be able to win at Troy. St. Leo is in Dade City which is a redneck hole in the wall town. They compete against very tough D2 schools in areas much more desirable for a recruit...Flagler (St Augustine), Rollins (Winter Park), Florida Southern (Lakeland) Tampa U., Eckerd (St Pete), Nova Southeastern (Ft Lauderdale).

Careful now, I have several dear friends that live in Dade City and it's a GREAT little small old Florida town. Ocala is a long way from an elite metropolis. Calling it a "Redneck hole in the wall town" is condescending for no apparent reason and an insult to the great people that live there. Saint Leo is a beautiful small Catholic University and much accepted learning curriculum and environment!

Ok I'll drop the redneck but it's not a pretty town and it was to make a point that he won there with a distinct disadvantage compared to the other D2 schools . He will have no trouble recruiting to Troy if you can get players to go to St Leo Had a friends daughter recruited by them in softball, they turned around when they got there. I'm not making that up. I wish this coach much success and he appears to be a proven winner.

Been there a ton of times and loved it but then I'm from a one red light town so I guess we fit the redneck hole in the wall handle as well but I loved it. We had our own slang names for folks from big cities... like Dunellon! If your friends turned around after seeing St Leo they are picky. It's a lovely campus! Lol:-)

I've helped coach at two different high schools here and we played Dade city Pasco high. That's a rough crowd down there. May be a little hard on the town but I did not like Dade city. Hey I'm just a small-town guy to we had 1200 people where I grew up. My friends didn't like the town not Saint Leo. Their daughter ended up signing with West Florida
