Waste of four year if you axe Mr. Ho. Waste of $40+ million too.
He'll have to take a pay cut, but hire him based on what his buy-out would be after he moves up. We get no buy-out for Cunningham. Or bring Flex back or get crazy and hire Shandra. The program has regressed if you axe Mr. Ho. TMTDM won the SunBelt in 2010 - we aren't remotely close to doing that in the foreseeable future. Support has cratered. The days of Sartain were fun even if toilet was broken. New arena like a morgue most game.
Bring Payne in, Kentucky visits Troy would be bigger than Missouri coming to town.

I think Major Payne would be better than current coach

This guy will be offered by a big-time school soon. He was close to be hiring at Mississippi State.
Troy can't afford him. I seriously doubt Troy will shell out more money for a basketball coach.
I think some guys that Troy could afford and would be hidden gems would be the head coach at Hutchinson CC, Steve Eck. He has a 200-44 record, took them to the NJCAA national championship, and has never had more than 8 losses in a season. He clearly knows basketball, being from Kansas.
Another guy would be UAH coach Lennie Acuff. He's going to be familiar with the area as far as recruiting goes, and he is 371-186 at UAH. He has taken them to the Elite Eight in Division II twice. UAH was also the first Division II team to ever be invited to the NIT Season Tip-Off Tournament... and they whooped North Texas. He also played Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Alabama... and lost all of those games in the last few seconds... which is more than Cunningham would probably be able to do.
Imagine what Acuff could do with Troy's D1 talent???

I've been thinking of people that know the area well that would possibly take the job and be able to bring us to a Sun Belt contender... I wonder if Chuck Person would take it? He's Wesley's uncle, so that would only help being able to lure him here. He would have to take a pay cut I would imagine, but I saw last year he was the runner-up for the UAB job so I wonder if he has any interest in moving on from his alma mater if the right Head Coach job opens up. I'd imagine he would want to stay in the Alabama area since he grew up here, played at Auburn, and then went back to the Auburn coaching staff after playing and coaching in the NCAA. Honestly, I'm just looking for someone that can beat South consistently and challenge for the Sun Belt and NCAA bid... We have more talent than South this year and we went 0-2...
