Your love of New Brockton has been noted. Troy athletics, city, and Pike County we’re lucky to be graced with all your Royal presence during your short stay in Troy. I’m surprised all of central Florida didn’t shut down during your absence. Like I said zero talent in Cent Fl and south. Our best programs couldn't beat 1A schools on the 231 corridor. I'm trying to help out some of you who our obsessed by me and central Florida I mean some of you mention me or refer to me in every post. No need for that. I was a nobody as was every other player from Florida with the exception of the panhandle which is technically part of the football heaven of Alabama. New Brocton is the current hot bed but that could change to GW Long or Zion Chapel in the near future. So don't worry about me or the girls schools down here. If we decide to play any Al high schools we will make sure it is against your girls flag football teams so we don't get blown out When you look at the numbers, the Florida Panhandle (Pensacola specifically) produces more NFL talent than nearly all other cities in the state (with the only exception being Miami). So, I would consider it the " Football Heaven for Recruiting in Florida." Surf Report:The surf still sucks, but it's a beautiful day on Pensacola Beach.

Evidently you don't get sarcasm to the Alabama posters. Well aware of the talent in Pensacola. Was actually in Pensacola in 1984 or 85? And watched Woodham play for the 5A title and Escambia and some running back named Emmitt Smith play for the 4A title. Also had many great teammates from there including South's new HC Steve Campbell. Having fun as they always give a jab at me.

Woodham was running the same wishbone we did at Troy and Escambia ran Emmitt every play. I believe he was a Freshman. St. Pete High I have no idea how they made it. St. Pete has never been known for football. They had a rb that went somewhere big but Escambia was loaded. A lot of talent besides Emmitt. I actually had Dwight Thomas and the Escambia coaching staff as my coaches in the 1986 North-South Florida All Star game. Escambia beat Bradenton Southeast for the title in 1985 and the Southeast coach had it in for Thomas. The South team was loaded compared to our North team. We did have a lb from Escambia that started four years for the Gators and Alvin Harper who played for the Cowboys. South had Browning Nagle at qb, Pat Terrell who went to Notre Dame and the Jets and I had the misfortune of attempting to block future NFL star Ted Washington. He ate my lunch. South beat us pretty bad and I remember Coach Thomas saying how this whole game was to get back at him. I know when I was in HS, Escambia county was drawing the best coaches because they didn't have to teach. Don't know if that's still true or not.

I love what they have done to the stadium but here is my question. Will they ever add a second deck to the other end and revamp the concession stands? I think it would look awesome if they did.

When we consistently fill the 30,400 seat Vet, I'm sure consideration will be given to putting an upper deck on the south end. Until such time, there is no need for a south end upper deck. Concession improvement is a different matter, but I'm not sure how much a priority that is at this time. Now that the North End Zone is complete, the next big budget expenditure MUST be an indoor practice facility. That is way more important to the program than 15, 000 additional empty seats.

Completely agree. My concern is with Trojan Arena, Trojan Dining, Alumni Hall, The End Zone Complex, the golf complex, softball upgrade and currently the new student rec center all in the last 7 years is how much more debt or bond exposure can the university absorb?

Two good points here: 1) I was told by a usually reliable source that Troy U's access to the bond market was maxed out a couple year ago. Could have changed in the meantime. Dunno. 2) The concession stand. I think the concession facilities could serve for several more years but Sodexo has done such a consistently poor job of management, ad nauseum. The concession model that I like is to assign each stand to a local school band group, Boy Scout troop, SOTS volunteers, church group and let VOLUNTEERS from those organizations staff the concession for a cut of sales/profits. It would build tremendous community support and most likely improve the performance of the concessions at no labor cost to the University. Food for thought.

They did the "local group" concession stand deal for years. Actually I'm pretty sure they still do it.

Wasn't able to attend a game last year because of Aunt Irma and her evil sister later but do they have anyone going around selling cokes, hot dogs etc. Seems like another way to increase sales. How many of us would buy a beer or soda and not stand in line or miss a play.

I have no idea whether that would solve anything or not, however I haven't seen anybody post fire ..... lately so I thought i'd keep the fire somebody train rolling. I'm bored, come on September 1!
