Why on God's beautiful green earth would anyone in their right mind go to that dump of a place?!?!
All I can think is that Saban told him he wasn't coming back. This is a major step down for him

Master of his own domain...FL recruiting...HC man recognition. He'll bring that school back to a success level to rival or surpass Schnelly...

I can't see him being successful there....but that's just me Correct. Davis is at FIU, Strong at USF, UCF has the Oregon OC and Miami has Richt. FIU and FAU are going to struggle. Problem in FL is a lot of kids from N and Cent FL don't want to play down there unless it's the U. Even some of the S FL kids want out.

I know this is what he's trying to do, but both of those programs have had success before. I can't remember a time when FAU was dominate or even just a great team, even under Schelly

They beat us keeping us out of a bowl even though we were 7-5

Compared to WKU and ASU who have won conference championships, beat big boy teams, and actually knew/know how to play clean football? I rest my case haha

I just pointed out they did have some success but you are correct they didn't sustain it....same with FIU, pretty much one good season. We forget how awful WKU was before Taggert showed up there. I believe they at one point lost 19 games in a row.

Add to that the team to the northwest lost to ULM by 2 scores (TROY beat ULM by 2 or 3 scores) finished 6-6 and went to a bowl game and we sat at home. That just turned the knife in the open wound.

FIU hasn't been relevant since TY Hilton was running rampant down there. That young man was a one man TROY destroyer. His NFL success is no surprise.

I still remember sitting close to the field for HC against FIU in 2010 and watching him slow down and turn and laugh at our defenders chasing him.
