NOPE it wasn't Coach Brown....It was Idaho's Petrino.
Brown took a team that went 3-9 and 4-8 to atleast 9-3 in 2nd year AND first top 25 program in conference history. But we are going to give it to Idaho who has 0 wins over the top 3 in the conference (Both games were blow outs) and took him 3 years to get to that point.

That's ridiculous! I thought CNB would have been a shoe in.

Naw, I knew the conference would try its hardest to find a way to screw us out of it.

I think the ASU and Ga Southern game hurt him but he still should have won it but Petrino got Idaho to a bowl which is a accomplishment also

If the same people marketed his candidacy for coach of the year that market everything else in Troy Athletics. I understand why he did not win!

U can understand why Petrino won. If you look at it when has Idaho ever been a threat at all in the FBS? A team that basically is always a bottom feeder has a pretty good year. Now look at Troy, a program that has history of being the best and winning. Everyone knew it would happen, just sooner than anyone predicted. Neal had a winning history and foundation backing him. Petrino, he had a big crap pile and dumpster fire behind him.

Let's face it, Idaho is getting screwed a lot worse than us right now. It slaps their president for being an idiot and rewards Petrino for doing a good job with very little. He deserves it and the team overall deserves the recognition.

If he can have a winning season and get recruits while playing football in a wharehouse...then give him the award. Neal can win it next year when we beat Boise and LSU and run the board on the SBC.

Naw, I knew the conference would try its hardest to find a way to screw us out of it. Keep this in mind: The Sun Belt Conference announced Wednesday its Football All-Conference teams and individual awards, chosen by the 11 head coaches and select media representatives.

My case still rests. Theres a couple schools reps that wouldn't vote for Troy if we were the last school on earth. We could go to the Rose Bowl next year and they will still vote for such and such school over Brown.

On other side, it gives CNB incentive to keep the pedal DOWN! ttimesmall

I would clearly vote for Neal if I were voting BUT Petrino did a heck of a job and I see no issue with him winning, he and Neal should have been 1 and 2 regardless of who was in what spot, they both did a great job.

I agree Oxygen, we also need to remember that Idaho will be dropping down to the FCS level next season and the players all knew it going into this season. Just an amazing job by Petrino. His name has come up here for the WKU job so I do hope he gets a chance to follow his brother's path through Bowling Green. That would put both Patrino boys just two hours apart from one another.....
Go TROY!
