I'm proud of these players and this staff, but this season has modified expectations for this team. I for one am no longer complacent with 7 or 8 win seasons. We have show we can compete at a high level.......apparently so long as we aren't on national tv or in a blackout. This season has shown me we can be the team I've always seen us as since I become a Trojan.

I'm not happy with the way we played vs stAte and GS. Believe it or not, I'm more upset about the way we played today than against stAte. There is no reason for what happened today.
That said, I am pleased, overall, with this season and the things we saw. I'm pleased with the improved effort, the improved execution, the improved discipline...I'm just pleased. 9-3 is nothing to sneeze at.
OK, I've addressed this season, and specifically the end of it. Now let me address next season. I want to be the first to go on record and say that, barring some major disaster such as a string of season ending injuries to half our starters in fall camp, I will be extremely unhappy with anything less than a conference title next year. That is the final step in our return to glory. We are ready to take it, and take it we must. Let's decompress over the off season and get ready to dominate the 'Belt as it has never been dominated before. We can and we must. We are, after all, TROJANS....one and all.

I'm as angry about this loss as anyone. But we're 9-3 after 3-9 and 4-8. A bowl win gives us 10. It's a crappy way to finish, yes. But Neal Brown is a young coach and he's learning to deal with prosperity right along with the team. Next year the whole team are going to be veterans to winning and deal with it better.

We are 5 points per close losses (10 points or less) from being 11 - 1.
Loss to Clemson by 6 Loss to Georgia Southern by 4
And we are 6 points per close win (10 points or less) from being 5 - 7.
Win over Southern Miss by 6 Win over Georgia State by 10 Win over South Alabama by 7 Win over Appalachian State by 4
Just some thoughts this morning as I wait to hear the official bowl announcement.

Laying a couple truds on national TV in two of our last three games will keep the pollsters away for quite a while. Even beating Ohio handily won't get rid of the essence in pollsters view. Ok....I've been putting this off posting here because I have a kid that plays...so here, im gonna post, like it or not I don't care 1. All of you falling for CNB'S head are freaking idiots. This man came in, too keen a 3-9, 4-8 team, with HIS added in recruits, gave Troy a 9-3 season and a GREAT bowl birth. Yes, we lost a couple games we shouldn't have, but what about the fact that the assholes on here that don't give us past a 5-7 , maybe 6-6 record, finishing mid of sunbelt pre-season that's including most of the major fan sites, @philsteel being 1 of many. We proved them all wrong. 2. Yes, maybe there were some wrong calls along the way . But guess what, there are only 16 seniors on this team . They were lead by a young head coaching staff, that yes made some mistakes along the way, but look at where our team is vs. Where we were last year. Last year we were ecstatic over beating a shitty lala team. Now, here we are 9-3, after an 4-8 season, and yall want to B****? All I have to say is wake up and see that Troy is finally on the right track. Those of you that are calling for a new head coach or even a new OC, are purely no more than arm chair dumb A** coaches. Probably only played the game no more passed high school at best or were bench riders at any level passed that that. CNB has done more for this program in the 2 years he's been here than anyone can fathom. Yes, we lost 3 games we shouldn't have, but with any kinda of success there is growing pains. Everyone with any kinda football sense will understand this. We only have 16 seniors on this team. MY GOD can yall not see what the future holds? My son is done after this bowl game, but we will always be a part of the Troy family. The friends and family we have made along the way are permanent. But to those over these past years that have beat down and tried to break the Troy spirit, yall can kiss my A**. As far as the ones, and you know who you are, that are calling for change on this awsome coaching staff, yall can also kiss my A**.Yall are idiots . Your play calling wouldn't work like you say it would. NONE OF YOU have been on the sidelines with that split second decision making and neither have I, but I can say, just like me you're not qualified. But I feel the coaches we have are more than qualified. I'm so proud to have developed the friendship and added family of being a Troy Trojan this past 5 years

Thanks so much!! As a former Troy O'lineman ... I know it's the improvement of the Oline that has fueled this turnaround! Coach Brown, the whole offensive staff .. and especially Coach Moore ... have done a great job! Tyler and Garcia have provided great leadership and consistent play!! I don't think people understand just how hard it is to play tackle in the modern game! They've had a great year ... glad they've gotten to finish with a successful season. I also agree that we have a very bright future! The young guys coming along are very talented ... and with good coaching and better talent surrounding them ... the it's a great time to be a Trojan! I say thank you to Tyler and the whole family for your contribution to Troy!!

Thank you for your support and to all those that positively support the Troy Trojans! #RTW #GOTROY #EDGE You are absolutely correct. These guys have done amazing jobs at turning around what was perceived as a sinking ship. My perception of some fans wanting a more imaginative game plan and play calling is wanting to give these kids their very best opportunity to demonstrate that development and success everyone has seen. It's no knock on the players. If the opponent can figure what we are going to do it gives our kids an impossible job. It's amazing how good they've done given that limitation. To block for a great runner like Chunn when most know he's running ball is challenge within itself. For him to set records not only says how great he is but how good his blockers are because they are the ones that help make great runners. Without them, he's handicapped badly. I played interior line at Troy so I understand what they deal with. We do have tons to be proud of but the limited PLAY CALLING was the often heard issue of concern, not the players. I know who our OC is but have no idea who calls each play or decides during a game the pattern of play calling. NB is a blessing to this point in his career and no doubt for the future because he's doing all the right things. Holding on to him and most staff members should be a priority. It never hurts to look at a season to see where improvements might need to occur. As we end the year, us and them will share ideas about the pros and cons of the year. Theirs will count, ours won't! Ha! There was tons of pros and VERY few cons! Our opinions won't be worth a tinkers darn but theirs will be what makes us a better team next year. This team has poured a solid foundation for the future and they should bask in that fact. NB will deal with any negatives he perceived I'm sure. A certain amount of TV couch coaching is to be expected and is what these sites are designed to promote....conversation but should be within limits. I SO agree that things need to be kept civil and realistic. Thanks for choosing Troy along with your son. It's been a lighthouse for my family since 1963 and I'm sure it will be for yours as well! God bless! Go Trojans, best Ohio!

Great young man and you should be very proud. I will tell you one thing about next year, it's going to be very, very difficult to replace these two. Garcia was a four year starter and Tyler a three year starter that contributed for four years. You don't replace that right away. We have a great group of line man returning but there is no substitute for game experience. The positives is next year will be the first time in 6 seasons that we have a returning starter at center but we are replacing both tackles and a guard. Please tell Tyler thank you for his contribution to Troy football. He will be missed and I always loved how he played with passion. He is and forever will be a part of both Troy football and the brotherhood of Troy lineman

I for one am real pleased with a 9-3 season....I think Troy was a over achieving team this year and that is credit to the Troy coaching staff. As disappointed as I was to losing to a very under achieving team in Georgia Southern this past Sat. I'll take a losing Troy team, that finished 9-3 and is going bowling over a winning Ga. Sothern team that finished 5-7 and will be sitting at home watching Troy play this bowl season.
