The truly unfortunate thing about the date in Mobile is that nearly all of the students will be gone for Christmas Break. The students have played a critical role in this team's success and it will be disappointing if they are unable to share in the experience. They'd all be gone for Christmas break no matter when the game was. Exams are finished on the 14th. commencement is on 16th. So they'd be gone anyway. Point taken, but a commencement on 12/16 and bowl game on 12/17 would be very appealing to me if I was a student.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Please take a look at your comments and realize we are complaining about bowl games, it's been SIX YEARS since we had a bowl conversation. We have to be excited that we have come this far and have the potential of a 10 win season. We are going to a flippin bowl game and getting more national attention regardless of where we end up.
If I was a betting man, some of you would complain if we went to the Cotton Bowl because it's "too close to New Year's Day and I can't get off work / too far to drive / too expensive to fly".

I agree! As for me, I am stoked no matter where we play. The drought is over. I will either watch on ESPN or do my best to make it happen for me to attend but either way I am beyond excited!!!

I'm more than happy with Mobile... it's the bowl I wanted... they do the best job with hosting teams and events... the city goes all out.
Plus we might get the best opponent

Definitely happy to be talking bowls at all. Mobile will be the hardest date for me, but I'll be there. Family might just have to start Christmas Eve dinner without me.

Except if it was Montgomery because they would probably stuck around a day for that one. For those living in dorms, you can't. Have to be out a certain time for holidays. Once it is break you have to be gone

Pace might be the only one because of the international students there who can't travel easily. I remember when I was in college, I had a friend who worked on campus, and he had to get special permission to stay in his dorm during breaks. (this was over a dozen years ago, though, so things may have also changed since then...)

When someone like Miss St (this year) gets a bowl invitation and has lost more than they won, there's too many bowls or dime idiotic bowl committees! Way to many bowls. 6-6 teams in bowls loses the luster IMO It's not about football with the bowls...it's about the cash$$$$$

That was a bunch of fun until the Gordon Beirsch beer kicked me in the colon on the flight back through SLC. Thought we would never make it to 10K feet and turn the fasten seatbelt sign off. Hard to believe that was 12 years ago!

You do have to get permission, or give some kind of notice I believe, but that's just to cover insurance issues.

Well ULL & South took care of business. How many bowl eligible teams will be ahead of South that are 6-6. It is my understanding they will be treated like a 5-7 team until all 6-6's are placed.

Seeing on twitter that bowls have started swapping teams. Looks like Idaho to the Potato Bowl and which allows USA to the Arizona bowl.
