Again...
I'll bring 3 cars full of fans to N'awlins.
None of us will make Mobile because of the date.

I went to Mobile in '09, NOLA in '10. As an old curmudgeon who has no interest at all in the bar scene, the Mobile trip was much more enjoyable. As part of the bowl festivities, they put on a Mardi Gras parade preview. By preview, I mean there was a Mardi Gras parade that lasted over an hour. That was a blast in spite of the 20 degree night. The people in town knew why we were there. The hotel, restaurant, and coffee shop employees all knew about the game and were excited about it. There is plenty of night life along Government as well as other attractions, if one needs to fill time during the day. Then, there was the game, and what a game it was. As has been previously stated, the folks in New Orleans didn't even know there was a bowl game going on. There were no activities, no promotion, nothing. From my standpoint, only thing about the '10 NO Bowl that beat the '09 GMAC Bowl was the TROJAN Walk through the lobby of the Marriott. That was AWESOME. Don't sell Mobile short, especially if you didn't make it in '09. They put on a good show. This ! Mobile and NOLA are good times. For the players (and fans) sake I hope we don't go to Montgomery, not a reward.

Not sure I trust his projections, he has Mississippi State in a bowl. They are not bowl eligible and I do not believe they qualify for a waiver based on APR. Perhaps someone can correct me?

State is at the top of the 5-7 teams with the high APR which grants them permission to play in a bowl game (STUPID to have ANY 5-7 team)

I like mobile just not the date. I know pctrojan16 and I prefer Montgomery this year for selfish reasons for him he's graduating on the 16th and I graduated in July. Because of time off and price I would like Montgomery. It's still a three hour drive from Huntsville.

Everywhere I've read Miss St will probably be picked to fill an open slot. All rumors have pointed to the LV Bowl I believe.

I am stunned that Miss. St. has an APR higher than any other 5-7 team, they must all have a bad APR!

Las Vegas Bowl is going to need a quality opponent to match up with MWC champ. The PAC 12 will probably not be able to cover this Bowl game if Washington makes the playoff.
If USA & ULL can get bowl eligible this weekend do not be suprised for either App State or Troy to possibly fill in.

On the Troyfans Twitter link the fan poll shows New Orleans #1 Orlando #2 The date is better and the location sounds more interesting than home games in Mobile or Montgomery, all other factors aside. So that isn't surprising. But I can say I don't want to play USM again and odds have always put us in Mobile regardless of our record.

Way to many bowls. 6-6 teams in bowls loses the luster IMO

As long as the team has fun and plays with enthusiasm, that's really all that matters. These guys have worked hard to get to this point and prove themselves. If they're excited, I'm excited for them.

The truly unfortunate thing about the date in Mobile is that nearly all of the students will be gone for Christmas Break. The students have played a critical role in this team's success and it will be disappointing if they are unable to share in the experience.

They'd all be gone for Christmas break no matter when the game was. Exams are finished on the 14th. commencement is on 16th. So they'd be gone anyway.
