Not what I'm saying at all.
We have a team that was welcomed by hundreds after a loss. Has been lauded on social, print and television media all week for how great they are.
The team played very well in Clemson, but at the end of the day it was still a loss.
I guess i am somewhat fueling the fire, but i just don't understand the continued bandstanding and hooplah over a game that happened five days ago. I'm more concerned about the outcomes we can control, than the ones that are in the past.
This team has been told they are good by everyone all week. Lets go show people that it isn't an erroneous statement. However, if we don't win this week, i want each of you to come back and atta boy and cheer as if we did.
Don't let it be a one time thing.

You can bet that if our kids play their hearts out, give a 100% and play with discipline and class and the other teams is better than us and we lose, you bet I will be back to congratulate them. What you are inferring is that as bad as we've been for several years, no matter how hard the kids play no matter the improvements they make, you expect perfection immediately...no exceptions. "Winning is everything" idiocy! Sure, EVERYONE wants to win and is disappointed when we don't but are you saying when YOUR KID attempts some endeavor you will hold ONE expectation for him/her, perfection? LORD I HOPE NOT!

I know how some former players tend to be judgemental about us non college players, but your fandom is no more or less than us mere mortals...

My concern is not about what's posted on a message board. I am somewhat concerned with the players being consumed with all the new found adoration and publicity and losing some focus on the task at hand. That's where I think our coaches will earn their money as much as they ever will with any X's and O's. With all the buzz on the board since the Clemson game I think a lot of fans are making this game out to be a make or break game. I don't see it as either. I do think it would be great if we could go beat a pretty darn good Southern Miss team, but a loss isn't the end of the season either.

Coach Brown has even said it multiple times that the first 3 games are our preseason. Yes, getting a win Saturday night against Southern Miss will be great but the conference slate is much more important. We're building depth right now and getting the younger players prepared for the most important run through the conference games.

My sentiments were directed to those who are continuing to piss and moan about one bad call. Get over it guys. That one call did not make us lose the game. It played a part, but wasn't the deciding factor. The team played well Saturday at Clemson. But I do not want this fan base to fall back in love with the feeling of moral victories being ok.

I'm hoping that we carry this momentum into Sat and beat a good USM team that went to a bowl last year. It can be tough getting up two weeks in a row especially coming off a emotional game last Sat. I've played enough ball and coached enough ball to know that coaches can prepare you and get you hyped for any game but ultimately it's how the players respond on the field. We only have to look at 2004 when we beat Missouri and then loss to a bad NMSU team the next week. Yes, different staffs but coaches can only do so much. I have full confidence this staff will have them prepared, it's up to our players to execute. Clemson game means nothing now, we need to beat USM and carry that momentum into conference play. 11-1 is still possible until we lose, let's Go Troy!!!!
