Austin Hulsey joins Troy baseball, makes historyJeremy Wise Troy University sports reporter Austin Hulsey wanted a chance to better himself and play against a higher level of competition. Troy needed a first baseman and perhaps even a middle-of-the-lineup hitter. Those wants and desires merged recently and set history in the process. Hulsey, a first-team all-Southwestern Athletic Conference first baseman from Alabama A&M, became the first graduate transfer to the Trojans’ baseball program ever when he enrolled this semester, head coach Mark Smartt said Tuesday. Smartt said Hulsey and a Bulldogs coach first reached out to Troy about the possibility of the transfer. It did not take long for Smartt to accept once he learned Hulsey had graduated with a degree in finance from Alabama A&M and would be eligible under the NCAA’s graduate transfer rule. ( Full Article)

If he plays as well for us as he did against us, he will be an asset! Glad he chose Troy to finish his college experience.
