Saw a post on Twitter about some shenanigans in the stands. What's the scoop?

I'm guessing it wasn't shenanigans but was instead abandonment. By the time the 4th qtr began, what was an end zone that was probably 90% full, was less than 20% full. The east upper deck was less than half as full as when the game started. We are in an 8 pt game vs a conference foe (dare I say rival) and TROY "fans" leave. Disgusting.

People just started leaving for no reason as we were in the middle of a close game. Just goes to show you that most of the people at our games are Joe Schmo's off the street.

I thought that's what Troy wanted, the locals. I thought that's what all the hype and publicity was about. Put that belt all over the place, invite everyone in, and then put them down when they smell the failure and leave? Winning takes care of itself.

Failure? Not at he beginning of the fourth qtr! Up until the moment we failed to convert that last fourth down attempt, we were absolutely in a position to win the ballgame in what would gave been an exciting and dramatic fashion. Needed improvement was evident early on but failure wasn't.

I was in section 110 behind the players. The loss sucked but that's something we've seen a lot of the past few years. But I saw a lot of improvement as well. The best play of the game? That was when CNB gathered his offense on the sideline after the third pick and umpteenth dropped pass and gave the offense liquid hell for their play. Did we stay until the end of the game? No. We left with about 6 minutes to go.

Don't give up on Silver's, he will get his mojo back. He's taken some brutal hits already this season while showing poise in the pocket. His accuracy was unbelievable earlier in the season so he's got it in him.

I'm still not sold on Silvers or the idea that the retained offensive staff deserve their jobs. Ruben and Burkes get major props for their efforts. Entire offense gets big props for converting the 2. My entire section (well, those that stayed) were floored that we still can't take a ball from under center. And yes, in spite of the close score, the last few seasons and awful offensive play in game made failure evident. This offense can't pull off what that kind of last minute save yet. Fan in me says they will by the end of the season but the realist who is used to losing isn't sold on that yet. But both the fan and the realist love the defense.

Silvers did not play well, but at least his first pick may be partially attributable to the wind. It is hard to throw long down the field into a strong wind. That ball just hung up and was about 10-15 yards short. Either the play call should have been different or Brandon has to know not to make that throw, or try to heave it 10 yards past your receiver knowing it is going to be affected by the wind. The punting was the same way (had poor punts into the wind). We had the wind at our backs in the second and third quarters and didn't take advantage of it. Additionally, way too many dropped passes. I remember three in a row (one of which was a slant to B. Holmes that he would have scored on), and maybe 6-7 drops total. I guess my point is there was plenty of blame to go around on the offensive side of the ball. The O-line while protecting Silvers well during pass plays, was whipped during running plays (how many runs for loss did B. Burks have because of penetration by USA's D-line). They did not run block well at all. Even the TD run by Flakes was in most part because of 2nd effort and breaking tackles.
Kudos does go to the defense as well as Teddy Ruben (nice punt return and wasn't it he that dragged a pile of defenders about 15 extra yards after a catch for a 1st down?). Great toughness by one of the smallest players on the team.

Give the ball to Teddy Ruben more often... The kid is a play maker! We fake to him on the reverse/speed sweep often, we need to give it to him occasionally for two reasons. It makes the fake actually mean something in freezing the LBs and Teddy is a play maker who can get to the edge and make a big play!

On 90% of the running plays yesterday where Burkd went the ball went! Duh! Had Silvers faked to him and kept the ball anytime he could have run forever. I'm left wondering, don't he coaches in the box who's job it is to see such openings or realize such tendencies see it as well. Gee whiz!

I've always wondering watching games from the hs level on up, it's almost like ...if it would work, don't do it. How many times have you seen a team score on a play or get a huge gain and they never run that play again. Heck if it works, run it till they stop it. In hs one time we ran the same play 28 straight times with great success until they finally stopped it, but by then we had 28 points.

I think you are thinking of Connor Brevard . He was a qb in high school. I was thinking along the lines of how jj, also former hs qb was used
