Per Jeremy Wise's Twitter, Gardner Minshew and Tray Hall (Snoop Dogg's nephew) are no longer members of the team.
Minshew was the big frosh QB from Mississippi. Hall is a DB.

Sure it is. One is a talented player on the field and the other has a good bit of potential. All part of the game of FBS football though.

Might be guilty of a knee jerk reaction to transfer though.

They could have offered a redshirt...he may have felt he'd be the starter...might not have been ready to sit for a couple of years...I wish him well if he does leave.

I suppose if you have any idea what you're talking about it makes a difference. Bo Jackson once got home sick and wanted to go home. Guess he wouldn't have been a big loss at Auburn either. Wish the KID the best of luck in his future.

Interesting about these two....I am with Hemi.....I think there is a loss here....I was looking forward to Minshew over the years....had great footwork...and while 6 1" a little short but not too short......He even graduated early to come here....I was always sure that a red shirt was coming for him and he would have had at least a couple years to compete.....but that was not all that was going on here ...... a kid with a 31-32 ACT is a good student...not sure if a little disappointed about the structure of his offer.....full ride does not always mean we get to be (for instance) housed where we want to be.....that may have played in to a decision to transfer.....this is a smart kid who I think will be a pretty good one given the chance....I too wish him the very best....
As to Trey Hall ....sorry to see him go too and I have no idea what that is about......I will be looking forward to the little chess pieces that come in to place with all these moves......It might be a wild ride.....certainly not going to be boring..

I certainly understand the new staff filtering the players that were here when they arrived but Minchew was one of their recruits. Why go after him if there is nothing to offer to keep him here. Usually with "preferred walkons" there is an understanding between both parties but not so with regular walkons. I thought he became #2 at QB over spring? With all the guys leaving, there must be a daunting chapter of players expected to suddenly show up. Let's hope it's part of a grand plan!:-)

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G850A using proboards Ok, will do! I thought the 2015 group listed was kids that had one more year in HS meaning seniors during '15 football season. Are those kids the football class of 2015 or this years (2015) graduates?

CNB won't stop them from leaving, he has to show HE is now Troy football. I don't blame Minshew, Silvers is & will be our guy who gets us back the Sun Belt trophy.

After this season Silvers will be the only scholarship QB. Now if he starts and does well he will be a junior going into his third year as a starter. That, I would think would discourage a Juco qb from signing. That would seem that we have to sign two Hs QB's next year. Which would mean they sit for two years also. It will be interesting. You have to sell a talented qb on the opportunity to start in two years and not imediate playing time. Now if Silvers struggles, then the qb will have a chance to play early. QB's however don't seem to struggle under Neal Brown

Under those circumstances aforementioned, I can't help but think he was offered a redshirt and didn't want it...he may have underestimated what was already here or misunderstood what the process would be had he not unseeded whomever was in front of him after the spring.
A bright kid that may have made a not so grown-up move...best of luck.
Once a Trojan, always a Trojan.
