It's called 'suck'. When you have a team that can't get more than 5 hits and score more than 1 run against UAB's midweek pitcher, you have problems...
I'll tell you what... for a schedule that features no Power 5 teams and what has been considered the easiest schedule in years, I'm not sure what to think of the 7-9 record thus far...

Put the pitchforks away. Youth is good. Allow them to take their lumps now and dish them out later.

Torches will burn up the brooms. Soon the fire Pierce thread will arise.

Coach Pierce is retiring after the 2015 season. Good coach.

Whoa, hold up cowboy, the beer barista does a fine job. Cowboy is Bill Watts or Bob Orton. I am the blonde haired, blue eyed son of a plumber. I am the bull of the woods. I am the king of the Bunkhouse Stampede. I am the American Dream.

I feel like Something within the team is happening we don't see...
JSU is traditionally a not great baseball program and we look like a peewee team against these guys.

Something within the team is happening we don't see... JSU is traditionally a not great baseball program and we look like a peewee team against these guys. It can happen at any level. I've seen it from youth ball up to MLB. Once things begin to spiral downward (whether during a single game or during a season) it is hard to stop that downward momentum. I watched my son's team last night that has a lot of talent come out flat to start the game, get behind early and before they can stop the bleeding they were down 9-0 after 3 innings. After that, you see mental errors, players hanging heads, swinging at bad pitches, etc, etc. The game ended up as a 12-1 loss and the other team only had 4 hits. But all the mistakes snowballed into a blowout loss for a team that up until that point had won 6 games and played pretty well. What you have to avoid is letting one bad game turn into a 2, 3, or 8 game skid; and eventually ruining a season. Sometimes a slump takes a life of its own and almost becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy once the players let it get in their collective heads. I hope we (Troy and my son's team) don't go any further down that path. Go TROY!

I do too! SMH! Not sure what else to do. This team has way too much talent to play like a bunch of bums! DothanTrojan97 pretty much summed it up, baseball slumps a unique animal in the sports world.

Yep. It happened again for my son's team tonight. Took a 10-1 lead into the last two innings, had a pitching change, couldn't throw strikes, started to make errors and ended up losing 10-11 in the bottom of the last inning on a passed ball 3rd strike (had it been caught would have sent it into extra innings), that let the winning run come in from 3rd base as the catcher made a bad throw down to 1st base after the passed ball. Uggghh. Kids were waaaay down after that blown lead/loss. Hope we aren't starting a trend!
