Didn't I tell you, that's why it's FUN!!!! However, those that can truly understand. The rest can continue to be two-steps behind (kind of like FBS vs. FCS), right? Except this season we would have only been the 5th best team in our old FCS conference. There is no way Neal can do worse than LB these last four years Question for you, "is your cup EVER half full? Or is it ALWAYS 3/4 EMPTY?" I'M just curious.

You seem to dislike almost all moves the athletic Dept makes. No disrespect, just observations, you just seem unhappy with all the moves and not sure why, that's all.

I liked the idea of doing what Georgis Southern did in hiring a proven Championship coach from FCS. He won immediately. Neal I hope makes a great HC but we don't know. Next season will give us a glimpse, as will his recruiting. I am optimistic because I feel like we can only go up. LB ran the program into the ground. He was a great coach when he was younger, but talking to former players who played for him when he first came to Troy till now, he isn't even the same person. The young LB made it clear that everyone earned their job, practices and off season were very intense, he was fiery, That is what I think we get with Neal, young, hungry, energetic and something to prove.

Maybe if we had "found" all the money we now seem to have for LB so he could hire top coaches or to keep some we had we might not be blaming just him for where we are today!!! He does have responsibility for the team but not the money. That little respondibility resides in Montgomery!

What players told you this? I find that incredible hard to believe, unless it was players that never played much. I spoke with several players just yesterday (Condrin, Todd, Jernigan, Freddie K, many others) and NOT ONE OF THEM indicated that sentiment to me they ALL understood it was just time.

Also spoke to several players parents and the all had great things to say about what Larry meant to them and their son. So players who never played for him might not be the best judge of where Larry came from and where he ended up. Coaches have ALL changed with the times. Social media plays a big part in this. But Larry, as long as I've been associated 14 years, give or take, he was always the same, family, school work, football, in that order. Was he different in 91? He is a TRUE TROY TROJAN, IMO. Still waiting on those who think differdntly

Don't shoot the messenger . I know guys that played for him in the 91-93 years. He was more intense and practices were much different than now. He had a lot to prove then. That's the attitude I believe Neal Brings . Never said he wasn't a good man, he was just a different coach at the end than the start. Same with Bowden, Paterno, Spurrier and others .

In that time, the NCAA has changed how, when, and how long you can practice...that shouldn't be an indictment of his measure as a couach.

Let's just say he was more intense and hungrier as a younger coach. He is a good man and cared for his players. It happened to lots of coaches as they got older, even the Bear. I wish LB all the best in retirement. IMO Neal will bring some fire back to the program and this Spring should be intense. Like what LB did the first spring at Troy. He stripped the depth chart and made it clear that no one had a position. I can't wait till T-Day. I'm excited

He also ran more of a option offense with Kelvin to. But he had a (The HC we don’t speak of) then and wanted to prove something. I loved watching that 92-93 team, it was special
