With all that's going on so far this season, just want to make sure we didn't forget to address this year's souvenir cups. Lol Any thoughts! Too white So am I, but I guess that would be for another thread on another board. LOL

I started the cups debate last year.
They were cheap 7-Eleven-type crap, good for one or two uses. I assume they are gone this year?
I did see some of the large souvenir cups in and around the Stadium Cup at Homecoming. They were the old fashioned, thicker, longer lasting kind. They aren't much to look at (generic, featuring all sports, so they can be sold throughout the year), but I brought a bunch home and they seems to be lasting nicely through multiple uses.
I am satisfied.

Keep adding the new ones to my collection.

Seriously, souvenir cups are probably the best advertising a school can have. They are cheap, produced by the thousands, spread everywhere in the country, show off the school to everyone nearby and demonstrate school pride. They wind up in the kitchen cabinets and automobiles of fans and non-fans alike. Tiny little billboards for a fraction of the cost.

I have no complaints with the cups this year. While they are a bit white and generic, it's a good cup for when you want to guzzle too much coke. I've worked on drinking out of our glasses more here at home to cut back a bit on my coke consumption - I LOVE Diet Coke but the new cup is fine for when I fall off the wagon.
My view on other things discussed in this thread is that there is nothing unbiblical about drinking in moderation, although I myself am the slightest of social drinkers. I almost never drink at home, (unless I'm by myself for the weekend and want to sit outside and have some scotch and cigar like I did this past one) I don't drink at tailgates or football games, and I don't drink when I go out to eat normally. So generally the only time I drink is when I get invited out by the guys at work on a Friday night, and that's about it. I also don't use tobacco anymore (except for the aforementioned cigar maybe once every 3 months) and don't use any illegal drugs. That said, I don't have any moral objections to marijuana in most contexts, and am looking forward to voting for Amendment 2 here in Florida to create access to medical marijuana at the state level (these laws really just remove state criminal penalties for doctors recommending marijuana and businesses supplying it, etc.) as a precursor in a decade or two to full-on legalization.
Man, I wish there was more excitement in the football this year so I wouldn't have had the opportunity to write that. Oh well.

Well, true full-on legalization won't be a reality until the federal government legalizes it, and it's hard for me to see that happening anytime sooner than that. Now, full-on legalization at the state level probably won't take that long at the state-level in Florida, but there's still a sizeable part of the state's population in opposition. My data is a bit old now, but a Quinnipiac poll taken over the summer here showed a bare majority of ~51% in favor of full-legalization with a much higher percentage of people in favor of medical marijuana. It's definitely a stepping stone, there's no denying that.

I'm not voting to open up legalization. Got enough problems with these young people without having a state full of stoners. That and I don't want to behind some stoner at Walmart buying a bag of Great Value weed homershake
