NTU market is much bigger. They have done a good job of making necessary changes. They have done a good job of communicating future goals as for as the overall direction of the program. They haven't settled for losing. The move to CUSA created a great deal of momentum in corporate donors in the larger market.
WKU is much the same and they have had a revolving door on coaches because of their success.
Well about the only thing you got right was that Denton is a bigger market. 2004 North Texas was 7-5. Their next winning season was 2013 at 9-4. Sounds like they accepted losing for quite a while. Thru built a $78 million new stadium in 2011. They are 20-21 overall since the new stadium was built. They were 13-58 in the old stadium overall since their winning seasoning 2004. The stadium was built while they were still in the Sun a Belt. A revolving door of coaches at this level likely means you are winning. That's not a bad thing at all. What it boils down to, preacher, is that you are an excuse machine for reasons to not donate. You have every right to be that way, but I prefer facts. The administration at NTU didn't settle for losing. They made many changes internally and other ways to communicated to fans they weren't sticking with the same losing system. I was aware of their records fact checker. I wasn't speaking of their record but how they handled the losing seasons were in such a way that communicated to the fanbase we have a plan in action to get us out of the funk.
Which is why they have the stadium in 2011. They didn't settle for being losers.
You don't have a clue what I give. I bled cardinal and black before you were out of diapers. I will tell you this I fell under conviction about ten years ago as I looked at my finances I spent more on Troy football than I did missions that years. Never again have I done that. I can't give what I did before I went into ministry. But I give what I can.

If someone can give $100 that doesn't make him less of a fan than the guy giving $10,000. I hope we don't get to a level where we compare wallets, we are all on the same team.

Excuses are made everyday for the pitiful product we put on the field here is the biggest one:
If we had the endzone building...........whatever BULL you want to put after it.
We lose because of coaching.
We lose - games, fans, unity in fanbase, opportunity for growth, etc.
Anything other than that is excuses.

Just another uninformed post by preacher. Curious about how you know so much about North Texas and so little about Troy? It's laughable that you get angry when someone presents you with facts. Well done non fact checker. You seem to be a very angry, preacher. I don't know what you give and don't care to know. So now you are telling everyone that hasn't been a fan as long you that they aren't as good a fan as you are? That's not a good way to build a fan base.

According to preacher the measure of your fandom is length of time as a Troy fan. No one has mentioned how much anyone gives or doesn't give. That's really not a topic to be discussed publicly.

Not angry.. but I am not going to get challenged from someone being a smarty pants about my commitment to Troy. That should disturb any fan on here that we would question anyone's loyalty.
I have a friend in their booster club. Any other questions?
Use Google and you should be able to get enough info.

Never questions your loyalty. I just think you come off as a very very negative person against fundraising for any project at Troy. Whether it be facilities, coaches, or anything else. Smarty pants? I have a friend on the moon. Google him. He's cool like you. Keep up with the uninformed posts. They are entertaining.

It is a valid one.

I think just list everyone as Trojan Warriors and send a certificate or plaque of your level to put in your home or office...jmo. Unfortunately the bigger donors like seeing their name, so probably the reason they are listed 01-ncaabbs

No you questioned my fandom, which we all have a story of, and I told you how long I had been one. Nope. Called you on your negativity towards fundraising. I answered it by telling you I am a supporter of fundraising. When I get called I answer instead of some around here who make smart comments. The truth about our current condition in fundraising is a negative condition. I agree you fix that by giving. Now thinking critically what barriers need to be removed to increase giving. What needs to be done different to increase giving. That is all I post. Not everyone is going to give regardless like most on this board, which is a negative reality. I am not a negative person.

I could be wrong on this, but I had never heard of the end zone plans till after the 2010 season?? Then the slide happened...3-9, 5-7, 6-6, 0-5. Was the field house not considered till then?? I wish it could have been pushed hard during the run. The sad reality is " everyone loves a winner". Hindsight is great but if this had been pushed hard from 2006-10 things might be different.

Just a guess on my part, but around that time planning started with end zone facility coincided with the tower payment being near completion. Also near the end of our run of championships a lot of our conference mates started upgrading facilities. I do think Dennis missed the boat though.

I'm just curious as to why they thought they could go 12 plus years without upgrades??

I'm just curious as to why they thought they could go 12 plus years without upgrades?? Complacency from the AD at that time? The dreaded do more with less mentality?

I do take serious the subject though.

Calling someone smarty pants and fact checker isn't being direct. It's an emotion driven response, likely out of anger or frustration. Some on here would even call it a personal attack. They've called much less a personal attack. I still prefer to deal with facts rather than assumptions.

Well you told me to check my facts so I called you a fact checker in humor since the statement was inferring that you had and I was wrong which would make you a fact checker.
Or
It could be I had an emotional funeral this afternoon. Then had to return to the office only to write up a staff member which is a blast. And was blowing off steam.
But
Probably a combination of the 2. Yeah frustrated but honestly not with you. threadT1Go Trojans!!
