Hilltoppers senior Antonio Andrews has 1,036 yards this season, 24 ahead of Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon for the most in Division I-A. “He has my respect,” Troy defensive lineman Shermane TeArt said. “He’s carried the load since he’s gotten there. It’s going to be a task for us, but at the end of the day, we’ll step up to the challenge.” Andrews has started 20 straight games and has at least 100 all-purpose yards in each. He has 16 career 100-yard games. “He’s a great back,” Troy linebacker Mark Wilson said. “They say he’s the No. 2 back in the nation. He’ll be an NFL guy, so I’m ready.” 2 Big passer: Hilltoppers quarterback Brandon Doughty’s efforts have been indicative of the Hilltoppers’ success this year. In Western Kentucky’s four wins, Doughty has just two interceptions. In its three losses, there have been nine interceptions, including five at Tennessee in September. “Any time, any way for us to force turnovers and get up under a quarterback’s skin and rile him, you have to apply pressure,” Troy safety Chris Pickett said. Doughty has been sacked 11 times this year, including seven times in losses. “When we get him nervous back there and get him throwing bad throws, hopefully he’ll throw us a couple of balls,” TeArt said. 3 Old friends: Troy head coach Larry Blakeney will see an old friend today.
