So what will Hartwell do on this show? I think he will avoid football and talk about soccer, volleyball, or any other sport. I doubt there will be any phone calls allowed. I bet he is on full communist lock down by Dear Leader.

I bet he is on full communist lock down by Dear Leader. Hartwell has never backed down from talking about a topic. I'm sure he will talk football.

I listened...OH! You want me to tell what I heard? I'm kidding...The questions that were asked of JH were 1) about his style as an AD. 2) What would be his process for righting the ship and 3) what is a guarantee consist of...
Answer to 1) Caller was from Vegas and asked about the possibilities of home and home with so Miss and UNLV. JH said he's made contact with both schools, but turnover at the AD position for both schools has hampered talks. He's in contact with the new guys. Caller stated there is an alumni base in the area that'd like to see TROY play in NV.
2) Accountability...teach it for success in the class, on the field, and for life in general. That goes for the top all the way down.
3) The last caller was interested in what the guarantee was. Also wanted to know why we started scheduling FCS schools instead of another bigger school. JH explained that the money games are a disadvantage to the league and they're moving away from more than one a year...after 2015, looking to stay at 6 home games.
That's about all I remember at the moment. No one asked if LB would be canned or bought out...

I definitely agreed with him about playing teams better than us...I mentioned that in another thread. I believe it raises the teams level of play and sets a tone for the season.

I'm glad John stepped up to the plate. I was asked to do it if he didn't have time. I have a prior obligation. We know, Mrs. TrojanChad won't let you out on a school night!

The only problem with that is that we will make more playing Georgia than our 6 home games. I understand the 2 loses with the big teams hurts which only allows you realistically 3 more loses. 6-6 in the Belt is no guarantee of a bowl game for sure...even 7-5 might not get you one...WKU in 2012. I do like 6 home games though, it does make it nice.

Should we stay addicted and dependent upon more than one a year? When do you say I have a problem? I think JH has admitted it and has sought help. Will we lend a helping hand or not?

What I took from TROJAN Talk with John Hartwell...He has his finger on the pulse of the issues that need to be addressed to help turn the football program around. I have faith that he will make the right decision and I will add that whatever that decision is I will support because I truly believe he wants what is best for TROY.

And I for one am proud that JH has this as a priority.

At the end of the day it's his paycheck and job that depend on the success of Troy Athletics. I'm guessing it's his main priority. More than anyone on this board. He's not here to fail.

I wish we sold out every game, but we don't. When we draw 15,000-19,000 a game with part of that being students who get in free plus pay the other team, that doesn't make much money. I love the 6 home games but how does it effect the football finances?
