So these alumni tailgates - is that like a perk of being in the Alumni Association or what? Also, how do people get into all those corporate tents outside the Vet? Are they employees or boosters or what? That's totally off topic though, so whatever. Alumni tailgates at road games are free to members and $5 for non members. Tents on tailgate terrace are corporate and other sports tents. I

I've NEVER been to an NCAA away game!! Shocking, I know. (although no one expects me to anyway, I've been told, so maybe not that shocking ) That means the only college stadiums I've been to are Veterans, Doak-Campbell, and Ladd-Peebles (bowl game). I really would like to go to a few here and there. I had a fairly bad experience being on the losing side of an away game at the Georgia Dome as an NFL fan - I realize all home fans probably don't act like Falcons fans, but I guess it just put a bad taste in my mouth. I go to football games to have fun and enjoy the game, not to deal with drunken profane people mocking my team and taunting me. I went to a Jags game as an away fan more recently and had a great time. It also helped that they have a "family section" we sat in that actually enforced a no-profanity no-drinking rule. Definitely have to do it one of these days. Probably try to make it Mobile, Statesboro, or Atlanta at some point.

They are rowdy in he stadium, yes, but outside the stadium they will feed you, put a beer in your hand, and make you dance. Fun people.

One day I'd like to start making the away trips, once I get on my feet financially. I lose at least two weekends during football season thanks to band contests, today and next Saturday, but I'd like to go back to ULL and go to ULM just too actually see the towns. I enjoyed MTSU when we went....kinda
